If you can afford it, might as well go with the V2, especially when you plan to play a lot more on the go. I have a couple of friends who I nudged towards buying a Switch when V2 came out, and the battery performance holds up. V1 can only net you 2.5 - 3 hours playing most games.
When comparing the original Nintendo Switch vs. the V2 vs. the OLED model, the OLED is the clear winner of the three.
